  1. Kia ora Carolyn,

Congratulations on completing your very first activity on the Summer Learning Journey this year. I am so excited to see so many of the students from Christ the King kick starting their journey so early. This is incredible. We have about 75 students already participating in the programme this year. Isn't that incredible.

What a great way to start your journey, you have shared three really interesting facts. I also learnt that 30% of New Zealand was covered by forest. This is why our country is so unique and beautiful. I am lucky enough to live on the edge of a native bush, which is like a small scale forest. We have many native birds visiting our garden and beautiful native trees surrounding our garden. We are extremely lucky. Have you been to a forest in New Zealand before? If so, where abouts in the country was the forest that you visited?

It’s awesome to see that you have included some great information about your home country. Please remember that when you find information online you must put it into your own words. Please rethink and re-word the parts of your post that are not in your own words. This will help me see that you have put a lot of thought into your activity and I can be sure that you have not copied it from the internet.

For future posts, please make sure any information you use is paraphrased (written in your own words) to make sure you receive full points for activities.

Thank you for starting the programme so promptly. I am excited to see more of your incredible posts over the summer.

I hope you are enjoying your holidays,
    Megan :)

I like how you added photos. Next time you should work on expanding your sentences and name the two national anthems.
